Welcome to the Nothing To Wear Edit where each week we curate the best picks from the topic we spoke about on the podcast. Listen to the full episode here.
When you hear the word "preppy", what comes to mind?
American college students in varsity jackets and pleated skirts?
The upper echelon of British society in blazers and stripes at the polo?
The infamous Brenton tee?
All of the aforementioned?
On this week's episode of Nothing To Wear, my guest Tamara Holland and I chat about a bunch of trends you're about to see everywhere.
One of them is the resurgence of the 'preppy' aesthetic. Preppy as a term is derived from 'prep-school', insinuating the student is from a wealthy family, attending an expensive private school. As far as trends go it's pretty broad, encompassing any style a college student might wear on the sports field to a high-society event, and everything in between.
I'm here for the preppy vibe. I like to wear one piece that has preppy leanings with other items rather than a head-to-toe look. Say, a logo or varsity tee with tailored wide-leg pants, or a sport-inspired cap with jeans.
Below is my edit for a touch of preppy you can mix back with your existing wardrobe.
