What's it like to be pregnant?

Have you ever looked at one of those beautiful, glowing, calm pregnant women, and just wanted to ask them; ‘aren’t you freaking the f**k out right now!?’

You see, the bizarre thing about the human race is that it’s perpetuation relies on women growing a mini human in their stomach and then going through an enormous, unfathomable amount of pain in order to actually bring them into the world. Anyone who thinks they can get their head around that concept simply hasn’t thought about it enough. It’s a mixture between absurdity and magic.

So as a naive 25-year-old I decided to harass, ahem, ‘interview’ three women in our office who have produced human life. I asked them all the questions about what it’s like to be pregnant. In case you were wondering, a ‘mucus plug’ is a thing – and apparently being scared that the baby is, er, watching while you’re having sex is not at all a legitimate fear.

I think I still have a lot of learning to do.

I don't think even being a naive 25yo is an excuse for believing babies grow in stomachs. Bellies, tummies, wombs, uteri, abdomens, yes. But stomachs?

Transcripts would be great for those of us with hearing problems!

Or for those of us who have absolutely no intention of listening to these things!

Or for those of us who are reading this at work and don't want our bosses to know we're not actually working...
