We’re not sure why it’s taken THIS long, but for the first time ever, plus-size (yeah, we hate that term too) clothing has been shown at London Fashion Week.
And there wasn’t an unflattering crazily-printed sack to be seen.
The most exciting thing about this catwalk show was that Evans, a British high-street retailer, collaborated on this collection with not one, but SIX high-end designers. Clements Ribeiro, Giles Deacon, Hema Kaul, Lulu Liu, Jamie Wei Huang, and Vita Gottlieb all designed plus-size versions of their clothes for the line.
HUZZAH.
The range featured glittery maxi dresses, demure lace frocks, metallic skirts, shirtdresses in fashion forward silhouettes and interesting fabrics.
We always suspected it wasn’t hard to make fabulous clothing in larger sizes.
Take a look at all the gorgeous clothing and models right here:
Bravo, Evans Design Collective. BRAVO.
If you’re not at work or have little humans are hanging off you right at this moment, you can also watch the full catwalk show below.
What do you think of the range?

I am a size 12-14 and I just love seeing clothes on women with shape. I live rurally so I buy most clothes online and seeing an hourglass model certainly makes it easier to shop with confidence.
Re the fat shaming: The collective neuroticism women carry in relation to weight/looks is the greatest factor preventing us from participating fully in life and the worst legacy we pass onto our daughters. Let's stop trying to humiliate people for their health challenges and stop projecting our insecurities onto others. Healthy bodies require healthy minds and people need to love themselves in order to succeed in any pursuit. Alienating a person because you are disgusted by their body is quite an awful character trait.
To "Don't get it".......I was only kind of joking about that, but it IS true that when you're a plump person you're made to feel bad about eating in public.
Eat a bag of hot chips, or an icecream for eg and some people will actually show disapproval at your food choice.
Even eating a "healthy" option will draw "looks & comments" because you're eating anything at all.
It's presumed by many that obesity is ALWAYS caused by eating "vats of food".
While some people DO overeat, there are others who are struggling with illness, fatigue, medication & pain and are unable to burn off a normal food intake because of impaired mobility.
Obesity is complicated and weight-loss companies know that - that's why they become mega-rich.
So anyway, yes..........if I don't want to have a bad day I sometimes avoid attracting the judgemental stares of those who think they know better.
