Parents of six die within 48 hours of one another.

In a tragic coincidence of ill health, two parents have died within 48 hours of one another, leaving six young children behind.

The Alabama couple passed away last weekend, with 40-year-old Jennifer Norsworthy passing away in her sleep from blood clots on Friday night, and 38-year-old husband Toby Norsworthy passing away from a heart attack on Sunday morning.

Toby’s sister, Tabitha Washburn, told AI.com she fears her brother’s passing was from the heartbreak of losing the love of his life.

The couple had been together for 13 years and married for 10.

Together, the pair raised six children together, three from Jennifer's previous marriage (Quinten, 20; Riley, 17; and Bradley, 13) and three children they later had together (Mickey, 11; Aurora, 9; and Lainie, 6).

All six children now survive their parents and are said to be devastated by the sudden and deeply shocking loss.

Now, a childhood friend of Toby has set up a GoFundMe page to help "offset any funeral costs and the future of their children".

Appealing to donors, the page says, "On the weekend of April 22nd, both Toby and Jennifer passed away within 24 hours of one another. They both had strong faiths in God, were vital members in their communities, and were such kind and gentle parents. They will both be greatly missed by these communities, friends and family."

Since first being launched six days ago, the page has received of $35,000 in donations and received an outpouring of messages from caring strangers.

"So Very sorry. God hold these young children in your loving arms, and Bless them. Mom & dad are in Heaven watching over you," wrote another.

Both Tabitha and Jessi Norsworthy have taken to the page to thank all those donating and sending the family messages of love and support.
