Lena Dunham has found the solution for sparse eyebrows.

While we love Lena Dunham for her intelligence, wit and hairstyles, we never picked her as the person who would provide the solution to our biggest beauty blunder: overplucking our eyebrows.

We’ve all been there. While big and bold may equal beautiful brows now, it wasn’t so long ago (hello ’90s!) that it was all about the heavily tweezered look. And Lena Dunham was one of those people.

“In 7th grade (the year was 1999) I plucked almost every hair out of my brows and started drawing them in with a dark brown eye pencil. This seemed chic chic chic and adult adult,” she wrote on Instagram over the weekend.

“After that they never righted themselves and so I’ve sketched them onto my face with varying degrees of success, envying every intact eyebrow I see.” (Post continues after gallery.)

“On the set of Scandal the lovely makeup team introduced me to RevitaBrow. That was eight weeks ago and what you see are basically all new hairs from my pupil outward,” she continued.

“I don’t even care if I find out this product has impregnated me with a devil baby because that is how happy I am to wake up with some semblance of eyebrows.”

Suitable for anyone who has also lamented over their threadbare eyebrows (whether by choice, accident or compulsion), RevitaBrow is a conditioning serum that strengthens eyebrows to promote growth.

Impressive brow game aside, we love that in true Dunham style she's shared a genuine beauty recommendation with us. The bad news? Unfortunately RevitaBrow is not widely available in Australia, and if you DO manage to find it you're looking at a price tag of around $140 upwards. Ouch.

The good news: there are a few alternatives including the Soshan Cosmetics Brow Boost ($39.95),  Talika Eyebrow Enhancer ($52) or the Elizabeth Arden Prevage Clinical Lash + Brow Enhancing Serum ($99).

Many also swear by natural remedies including castor oil, coconut oil, vaseline or even onion juice (although we're not sure we like the sound of that last one!) Alternatively, why not try an eyebrow wig?

If you're really after RevitaBrow, be sure to add it to the list of items to pester any friends visiting America to bring back for you.
