The list of "most overpaid" Hollywood actors of 2017 is in.

Well, this is going to make your meagre bank account squeal out in pain.

Forbes has rounded up Hollywood’s most overpaid actors and there is more goddamn money is this article than we even thought was possible.

You see, big name actors tend to get paid very well even when their movies are big old flops.

To work out who was raking in the most moolah (when they really shouldn’t be), Forbes devised a complicated equation that made us look a lil’ like this:

But it basically involved adding up the profits from the last three films an actor starred in prior to 1 June 2017 (leaving out animated films) and then comparing that to what they got paid.

Here are the most overpaid blokes in Hollywood:

Brad Pitt

Oh Brad, this isn't good.

According to Forbes, Pitt is only returning $11.50 for every $1 he is paid. His 2016 period thriller, Allied, flopped, which makes sense because we've never even heard of it.

Denzel Washington

Washington's box office return is $10.40 for every $1 he is paid.

His film Fences was critically acclaimed but it didn't make a lot of cash money internationally.

But remember he was the sexiest men alive for approximately 6000 years? There's that.

Channing Tatum

Tatum has also had a bit of a shocker and is returning only $7.60 for every $1 he is paid.

Both Logan Lucky and Hail, Caesar! under-performed at the box office, making Tatum's more modest pay seem more than a bit excessive.

Christian Bale

Bale returned just $6.70 for every $1 paid.

His film The Promise, only earned back an estimated 11 per cent of its $90 million plus production costs. Yep, it was one of the worst-performing movies of the year.

Be still our beating teenage hearts, Marky Mark has been paid a s**tload more than he should have been.

Wahlberg is only returning $4.40 for every $1 he is paid, with Patriot's Day and Deepwater Horizon both flopping at the box office.
