Open Post: How's your week going?

Hi friends. How are you going?

If you’re new here, welcome to Open Post. If you’ve been here before, welcome back.

Open Post is the place on Mamamia where you, our readers, can talk about anything. Life, work, love… anything is up for discussion.

I’ll start us off.

This week, our Editor-In-Chief, Jamila Rizvi, appeared on an episode of SBS’s NITV Awaken: Black is Beautfiul panel discussion, where she discussed what is beautiful and who determines what is beautiful in regards to diversity

Jamila was joined alongside some fantastic men and women, like Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan, Indigenous male model Jake Gordon, Social Commentator Jane Caro, celebrated indigenous artist and photographer, Wayne Quilliam, Director of Aboriginal Model Management, Kira-Lea Dargin, “See Me Now” filmmaker and advocate Glen Mackay, Founder of Ascension Magazine, Sasha Sarago, and Professor of Indigenous Health, Lisa Jackson Pulver.

Because I like to be part of everything, I went along with her to the panel discussion and got to experience all aspects of the filming.

So naturally, I’m sharing my findings with you all.

The discussion was fascinating and I could talk about it all day, but I’ll let you watch it and decide for yourselves.

Awaken: Black is Beautiful will air tonight at 8.30pm on NITV (Ch 34 free-to-air, Ch 144 Foxtel).

Click through our gallery below for behind-the-scenes photos from the filming.

Okay, enough from me. It’s your turn! How’s your week going?

OMM1: Everything else in my life is going really well in my life except for the fact that I feel like I have two toxic friends around me. Both of whom are calling me selfish because I can't see them very often. The reason for me not seeing them is university, work and family stuff. Arguably the fact that I've started to see a new boy hasn't helped either because I'm in a little bubble. I have it in my head that real friends won't care if you see them once a year or once every few months. Has anyone else experienced this?

OMM2: Where is st87? I am so happy that nearly all the regulars have commented on this post!!

OMM: I have been hating my current role for a while now. I'm so bored at work. The morale is so low in the office and it really affects my mood. I went for a job at another place about two weeks ago and was called in for a second interview on Monday to which they were asking me questions like when can I start, they showed me around the office, they said that they would need my academic transcript/referees sent to them and it all seemed positive. This happened on Monday. I wouldn't start the new role until 15 December. Is it too early to think that I haven't got it by now if they haven't called my referees and got back to me?
