Sister Christina, the shy, unassuming nun who won The Voice Italy earlier this year, has just released her first single. And because nuns are obviously way above pulling any kind of stunt to get publicity, that first single is a sweet musical version of The Lord’s Prayer.

Sister Christina says she chose the song herself, for totally legitimate, not-at-all-trying-to-cause-a-stir reasons. She told NBC news:

“Reading the text, without being influenced by previous interpretations, you discover that it is a song about the power of love to renew people [and] rescue them from their past.”

Yep. That’s exactly it.

It’s also practically impossible not to click on a video of a nun singing Like a Virgin. But that defintiely had nothing to do with it.
