No make-up selfies ‘not helpful’?

Over the weekend, women around the world have been posting images of themselves on social media without make-up to support raising money and awareness for breast cancer research. The selfies have been shared using the hashtag #nomakeupselfie and the campaign so far has raised over $3 million. Even celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and Megan Gale have joined in the good cause. However, despite the good intentions of the campaign, it has come under fire for focusing too much on taking selfies and too little on raising awareness or funds. Controversial Big Brother contestant, Tim Dormer, has created his own media storm, posting a selfie on Instagram last night of his backside and later tweeted ‘ craze? about as helpful as posting a pic of your butt. Have a laugh guys… I’ve heard smiling can help cure cancer.’

'Quintuplet' mum fools family & friends

Paul and Barbara

A Quebec woman has shocked family and friends after they discovered that her pregnancy was a hoax. Barbara Bienvenue claimed she was 34 weeks pregnant with her partner Paul Servat's quintuplets when it was discovered that she had never actually been pregnant. The pair had met on an online dating site and Barbara revealed that she was pregnant with twins one month after they started seeing each other. In her final ultrasound Barbara made the announcement that she was actually pregnant with quintuplets. But when Paul took Barbara to hospital to give birth, a nurse told him the bad news: Barbara was suffering from a phantom pregnancy. The story has since made headlines with many of Barbara's previous boyfriends coming forward and claiming that she has done the same thing before.
