One of the many perks of working at Mamamia is that we get to see and experience a lot of cool stuff. Sometimes we even get to take some of this “coolness” home with us.
In fact just recently Nissan gave us the opportunity to drive both their Dualis and their Murano. Not at the same time of course.
I drove the Dualis for a week. And I fell in love with the indicators (amongst other things). And the smooth ride. Wow. Nothing quite like driving a new car. Even if it was only for a week. I won’t spend too much time telling you how I drove about 5kms in first gear because I did not know that the car could switch between manual and automatic. Very cool. My son showed me that – in a very exasperated tone. How can an 11 year old be teaching me about technology and cars? Actually don’t answer that.
I was a huge hit with my son for having a car with the biggest glass roof EVER and turning up to school in a new car twice in one week. He was a big hit in his own eyes when he, er taught me to drive in automatic.
Mamamia’s writer Lucy drove the Murano. She writes:
“I took the Murano for a very cruisy drive up to the Northern beaches of Sydney on a sunny Sunday in January. It’s the perfect car for a long trip – plenty of room to pack the car full and a great sound system. Also, being prone to losing my keys from time to time, I loved the keyless entry and the fact that I didn’t need to be rifling through the bottom of my bag every time I got to the car.”
Editorial coordinator Nat also drove the Nissan Murano. She writes:
“Driving for me is usually a chore, but in the Murano it was nothing but a pleasure. There was plenty of space for my friends and our bags, the stereo had Bluetooth so I could link up my phone without any issues, and – my favourite part – there was a camera to help with parking. You see, when I was first learning to drive, my instructor taught me some complicated reverse parking maneuver involving a whole lot of wheel-twisting and mirror-fiddling… ugh. I was seriously bad at it. With the camera, the whole process was so easy that I wanted to park the car in tricky places all the time – just to show off my new skills. Love.”
We could go on and on telling you how much we loved driving the cars but we’re much more giving than that on Mamamia – so instead of listening to us bang on, how about we give you the opportunity to drive a new Nissan yourself. For a week. Just like we did (but you won’t drive in first gear like I did). And then you can tell us all about it.
All you need to do is click here – check out our new “Driven Women” site and complete the competition details. Easy. As easy as driving in automatic.

Why was my comment removed? Bad form Mamma Mia, bad form.
Was it the one about how much money you lose if you buy a new car compared to second hand?
There seem to be quite a few that have been removed.
lol, mine was too. Why even allow comments on ads if you dont want our thoughts MM
I'm sorry. The Murano may be good for what it is, but pretending it's a "cool" car doesn't work for me at all. If they were offering a chance to drive the GT-R Vspec for a week, I would be much more interested.
