See the t-shirt that got this 4yo boy kicked out of a restaurant.

This little boy wasn’t allowed to eat with his family because he was wearing this.

Nothing is cuter than a little boy wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with his favourite superhero, right?. Who would ever be offended by a four-year-old boy wearing one? Cold, heartless people that’s who.

A four-year-old boy has been kicked out of a busy restaurant because his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles t-shirt didn’t meet the dress code. But he’s a little boy? Since when did dress codes apply to young children?

Lewis in his favourite T-shirt.

Lewis Roberts was wearing the t-shirt when his family were trying to get a table at the upscale Tavern in Atlanta in the US. The Daily Mail reports that when the  hostess refused to seat them the family complained and asked to speak to the manager, who upheld the hostess's decision, saying the "gentleman's dress code" applied to all males.

The family left under protest and have since made an official complaint. They told WXIA that the t-shirt is Lewis' favourite and he should be able to wear whatever he wants. "If we would have thought for a minute that he was inappropriately dressed, we would have gone to a different restaurant to save the embarrassment,' Lewis's aunt Keri Smith said.

Should kids have to abide by dress regulations?

Upper management of the eatery has since released a statement, apologising to the family and explaining that the manager was in training and should have allowed the family in. Amber Stewart from the restaurant says the dress code does not apply to children. "It was an embarrassing misunderstanding on our part. She's a manager in training who had a gross misunderstanding of our policy. We apologize and are reaching out to the family," she said.

Do you think dress codes should apply to children?
