Nicole Kidman has broken her silence following her father’s death earlier this month.
The actress took to Facebook this morning to express her (and husband Keith Urban’s) gratitude for the support received from fans.
Nicole’s father, Dr Antony Kidman, died of a suspected heart attack when visiting daughter Antonia in Singapore on September 12th. He was a respected psychologist and Director of the Health Psychology Unit at Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital.
Nicole, 47, paid respects to her father at his funeral a few weeks ago with a touching speech, and a moving rendition of Amazing Grace with Keith.
“He was the father that was on a plane, hours after I got divorced, to come and take care of me, staying with me for weeks for as long as I needed,” Nicole told the congregation.
“He was also the father who would, when I was crying, always tell me ‘Nicki, it’s going to be OK’.”
Our thoughts are with the Kidman family in their time of grief.

My heart hurts for her. Having recently lost my own father (I'm only a couple of years older than Nicole), I know how hard it is. My Dad also, was my backbone, was 'right there' whenever I needed him, and even when I didn't know I needed him. We are all Daddy's little girls, and no matter what age we lose them, it hurts beyond belief.
