The Kidmans say their final farewell to Antony Kidman.
Nicole Kidman, 47, presented an emotional eulogy to her father, psychologist Antony Kidman, who she along with her family, said goodbye to yesterday afternoon in Sydney’s North shore.
Nicole shared many memories of her father, from his enabling her to jig school, picking her up from parties at odd hours, to his support of her divorce from her ex-husband, Tom Cruise.
The church service took place at St Francis Xavier Church, where Nicole explained how her wise, caring and affectionate father was “On a plane hours after I got divorced” during her very public break-up. Adding that in times of difficulty, Antony would tell her “Nic, it’s going to be OK. It isn’t what it could’ve been it isn’t what it should have been, it is what it is.”
"I'm so lucky to be his daughter, and that he chose my mother to make me with. The only regret he'd have is that he's not here to see his beautiful grandchildren grow up. And that he's not here to take care of Jay (his wife, Janelle)," she went on to say.
Speaking of her mother, Nicole said "It's okay Papa, we're here to take care of her. I want to say to him, don't worry, we'll be able to take care of her... I love you Papa!"
The actress talked of his generosity and how "He is the reason I can't walk past someone on the street with their hands out without giving." In concluding, the star explained "He was the father who was always going to be there."
Antony Kidman tragically passed away aged 75 in Singapore. He was visiting his youngest daughter Antonia, 44, and his 6 grandchildren over school holidays, and The Daily Mail report that he suffered a heart attack.
