5. Sydney set for a wet January.

The first week of 2016 is set to be a wet one, with today being predicted to be the last day of sunshine until Friday.

For the rest of the week, Sydney can expect more than 75mm of rain, which represents three-quarters of Sydney’s monthly average rainfall for January. About 20mm of rain is expected to fall on Tuesday alone.

We can expect temperatures to remain relatively mild, sitting between 22 and 24 degrees. But if you live in the northern tablelands, brace yourselves for an inundation of rain. Forecasters are predicting up to 200mm of rain.

Midway through this month, however, you can expect the weather to become much hotter and drier.
