Literally everything new on Netflix Australia in August 2019.

As winter slowly departs, it’s time to take full advantage of the last few weeks of cold(ish) weather.

We recommend replacing the frosty outside world with the safe confines of your living room, preparing a hot chocolate and grabbing some popcorn.

From everyone’s favourite movie A Star Is Born to a new five-part documentary series, Netflix has once again got us covered for our TV and movie needs.

Here are the top releases, with some other new and noteworthy additions, set to hit the streaming service this month.

Happy bingeing!

A Star Is Born

Get your singing voices ready, because A Star Is Born has dropped on Netflix.

The film co-stars Bradley Cooper (Jackson Maine) and acclaimed singer-turned-actress Lady Gaga (Ally).

Ally is a struggling artist who needs a confidence boost to breakout as a solo artist and Jackson Maine, a popular country singer, begins to mentor her. They unsurprisingly begin a romantic relationship.

You can watch the trailer for A Star Is Born right here. Post continues after video.

It was one of the most talked about and praised films of 2018, making it a must (re)watch.

13 Reasons Why, Season 3

13 Reasons Why, produced by Selena Gomez and directed by Tom McCarthy, has created another season, due to be released on Netflix Australia on August 23.

We don't know too much yet about what the third season will entail, but we do know that at the centre of the plot will be the death of one of the major characters, Bryce Walker.

It has also been confirmed this will be the penultimate season of the series, so perhaps now is a good time to rewatch the first two seasons.

This is a new Netflix original that is all about the ups and downs of female friendship, marriage and motherhood.

Starring Angela Bassett, Felicity Huffman and Patricia Arquette, the film sees the three women drive to New York City as they try to reconnect with their adult sons after they feel forgotten about on Mother's Day.

The Family

Welcome to your new true crime/conspiracy theory obsession.

The Family is Netflix's most recent documentary series that sees investigative journalists expose The Fellowship, a secretive Christian Conservative organisation in Washington D.C who hold immense authority all over the world.

Their pursuit is allegedly not about faith, but rather power.
