Winter is just over a week away, and one of the few upsides of that is the fits we get to wear.
In May, the Mamamia team shopped a bunch of cosy new clothes and accessories to brighten both our looks and our moods for when it's freezing outside.
From the 'outdoor UGG boots' we're obsessed with to all the new knits, here are our latest purchases – and why we rate them all.

Instock Energy Stockings, $65.
"Every year, winter rolls around, I don't have any stockings, go out and buy some cheapies, only for them to rip after one or two uses. Not this year! These are great – really good quality, comes in both simple sheer and patterns and actually keep you warm." – Charlotte Begg, Senior Lifestyle Writer.
Jackie Mack Allure Gold Wavy Earrings, $118.
"I recently bought these statement Jackie Mack earrings, because I wanted something a little glam to throw on during those days where I only have time to throw my hair up in a messy bun and run to an event." – Laura Brodnik, Head of Entertainment.
River Island Plus Blazer in Khaki, on sale for $79.
"My current work uniform for interviews and podcast records is an oversized coloured blazer and flared pants. I recently bought this River Island blazer which is so comfortable I could sleep in it. I love the muted khaki colour paired with a bright red lip." – Laura Brodnik, Head of Entertainment.
Alias Mae Quinny, $249.95.
"I've gone full winter comfort and added these shoes to my wardrobe. I'm not sorry in the slightest." – Olivia Simons, Squad, Head of Client Partnerships.
Sportgirl Roxanne Waffle Knit Sweater, on sale for $29.95.
"I'm obsessed with this green jumper. It's warm but also fits easily under a nice jacket or puffer vest, and the colour brings me so much joy!" – Claire Murphy, host of The Quicky.
Uniqlo Ultra Light Down Shiny Puffer Jacket, on sale for $129.90.
"I've been looking at this puffer jacket for two seasons now, and after seeing my mum try it on in the champagne colour, I knew I had to bite the bullet and get the black option (see: her trying it on above). It's boxy, it's shiny, it's cool." – Charlotte Begg, Senior Lifestyle Writer.
Uniqlo HEATTECH Turtleneck T-Shirt, $19.90.
"I also stocked up on more of these turtleneck long sleeves because they're game-changing. I don't know how Uniqlo do it, but these particular HEATTECH tops keep you warm when outside but are thin and breathable so you don't overheat when inside. They also look good, can be thrown straight in the wash and dryer, and never need ironing." – Charlotte Begg, Senior Lifestyle Writer.
Zara Pleated Top, $55.95, and Pleated Trousers, $55.95.
"I am ready for my Cosy Girl Winter with this set from Zara. It's soft and snuggly and you can bet I'll be wearing this everywhere I go because it is 100 per cent NOT pyjamas (even if it's as comfy as)." – Alix Nicholson, Managing Editor.
Maison De Sabré The Backpack, $389.
"I'm going to Fiji in a week and I needed to lift my carry-on game – enter this baby. It's got space for e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g, I'm talking pockets on pockets on pockets, which is perfect for me when travelling as I'm ALWAYS losing bits and pieces in whatever oversized bag I'm carrying. Plus, the padded laptop sleeve (because yes, I will be writing by the pool with a pina colada in hand)." – Alix Nicholson, Managing Editor.
Alana Maria Celine Necklace, $149, and Tahnee Earrings, $159.
"I’m a massive jewellery person (especially gold jewellery) and I’ve been loving these two pieces from Alana Maria Jewellery. I bought one of their necklaces for a special birthday of mine years back and it’s lasted beautifully, so I know these new pieces will last too. Plus the style – fabulous." – Isabella Ross, News Writer.
Sézane Lucas Jumper, $185.
"I bought this and love it so much, I'm wearing it right now. It's so comfy and warm but not bulky. It's easy to dress up and down and I like the button detail which is a bit different to the quarter zip that has been popular lately." – Andi Baulderstone, Strategy Manager.
Henne Margot Top, $159.
"I was influenced by two of my colleagues and bought this. I love it, it's so warm and makes me feel like I've put in a lot of effort when I haven't." – Andi Baulderstone, Strategy Manager.
Wittner Breanna Black Leather Flat Long Boot, $380, and Country Road Jersey Corset Legging, $99.95.
"I bought these boots from Wittner and as soon as I put them on, I knew I had to have them! They fit like a glove, are so comfy and are perfect for the cold Melbourne weather. I also bought a pair of these leggings to wear with the boots and I’m already obsessed! This is my go-to winter outfit for ultimate warmth and comfort." – Leah Porges, Audio Producer.
Lululemon Swiftly Tech Long-Sleeve Shirt 2.0 Race Length, $99.
"I have reluctantly started training for a half marathon and idk if anyone else has noticed but it's bloody freezing at the moment. I bought this long sleeve from Lululemon. It's actually the best, the sleeves are just the right tightness so they don't go anywhere while you're running. Even though it's really thin, it keeps me super warm, yet is somehow also breathable while you're running. I went back and bought it in another colour the next week." – Caitlin Bailey, Head of Marketing & Partner Strategy.
adidas Originals Ozweego Women's, $180.
"I treated myself to a pair of these bad boys on the weekend and I HIGHLY recommend them! Although off my feet they look like they are from an episode of Black Mirror; they are the most comfortable shoes I own and make you look stylish on the daily hot girl walk! Love them!" – Olivia Shearman, Research and Insights Coordinator.
Pol Sunrise Stripe Knit, $250.
"I recently bought this knit from a sample sale. It’s made from a blend of cashmere, wool, and cotton, and it feels so soft to touch. I also love the warm sunset tones, which adds a nice pop of colour to my otherwise neutral-toned clothes." – Bella Garrido, Social Media Producer.
Tatiana Active Wear Magnus Long Sleeve Mesh Mock Neck Bodysuit, $75.
"Loving my new long sleeve mesh bodysuit – it's made for dancing but also great for every day and can also be dressed up with a nice bra underneath for going out. The high neck keeps my chest warm, and I love the cutout detail at the back." – Tegan Sadler, Commercial Audio Producer.
