If you haven't heard of Dynasty, then you're probably under 35, so we'll make this succinct. It was an iconic 1980s US soap opera which followed the feud of two very wealthy families, the Carringtons, and the Colbys.

This month audiences will be introduced to the reboot. The show begins as heiress Fallon Carrington finds out her father Blake Carrington is about to marry half-his-age Cristal.

The first episode will arrive on Netflix on Thursday, October 12, with new episodes following weekly.

You don't need to know anything about the older version to enjoy this show. In fact, all you really need to know is that its producers include Josh Schwartz, who helped bring Gossip Girl to life. And if you are a fan of the original series, you'll be comforted to know creators of the original series Esther and Richard Shapiro are also working as producers.
