“Oh, you’re still breastfeeding?!?! Shouldn’t you be done by now? You’ll cut him off by his second birthday right?”
Former Neighbours star Natalie Hoflin hears questions like these all the time because of her decision to continue breastfeeding her 19-month-old.
The 33-year-old posted a photo of herself breastfeeding her son Finn to Instagram on Saturday, defending her parenting choice against people who think she should’ve stopped by now.
“In the early days questions like these didn’t bother me, they felt innocent. But lately the tone feels different,” the actress captioned the image.

I live and work as an expat in a developing country where extended breastfeeding is encouraged and is the norm due to the antibody protection. It absolutely baffles my mind that people in western society can get so uptight about it. It’s a boob! Giving milk to a child! What our bodies were biologically intended to do. I see it as no different than giving your child a sip of water. Feed away Mummas!
I don't agree with the over-sharing of anything to do with children!
I did breastfeed my youngest till 2.5years old & had planned to feed till he was 3 and wasn't able to, the most judgement & the many comments were all from my closest groups of friends who wanted me to "just have a drink" or "stay for the whole girls weekend" it was hard for me as I felt judged for trying to do the best for my child.
It all works out in the end though & I will say that I loved having a drink & having a girls weekend when I stopped breastfeeding I just had to be strong during the process & stick to MY plans for MY family!
