The one nail colour an expert says will never come back into fashion.

We love a spicy opinionespecially when it comes to beauty trends. Because chances are, something will be 'out' today and back 'in' tomorrow. You know how it rolls. Just look at the millennial side fringe. Side parts. Or straight hair. They always come back around.

But according to a nail tech, there's a nail polish colour that will absolutely never come back in fashion. In fact, she said it should never have been a trend in the first place.

In a viral TikTok video, UK-based nail tech and educator Catrina Mayfield shared with her followers, "There is one set of nails that you will never ever, ever see me paint"

And omg, the anticipation. Is it a French manicure? Bet it's a French mani.

"Are there any other nail techs that point blank refuse to paint certain designs? Because I do and here is one set of nails that you will never ever, ever see me paint," Mayfield said.

"You probably guessed it — it's full colour white all-over nail polish. And when I say white, I mean stark white."

Milky white polish gals, you can breathe a sigh of relief.

"It's not a vibe, it's not very nice, it looks tacky. I can guarantee that you'll have a client, she likes it for all of like two days and then realises it looks like Tipp-Ex and it looks cheap and it looks nasty," she said.

For the uninitiated, Tipp-Ex is basically like Wite-Out.

"At the end of the day, as a nail tech, I do not want you to be walking around with nails that ultimately I don't like. Because my name and reputation is against those set of nails. And I don't want people to think my nails look cheap and tacky," she added.

"I don’t know how I'd feel if my nail tech refused something I was paying for," one person commented.

Another person wrote, "As a nail tech… I'll do any colour/style my clients pay me to do."

Ooft.

In a follow-up video, Mayfield addressed the commentary around her viral post, reminding people that as a self-employed nail tech, it's okay to uphold a boundary when it comes to client requests.

"Being a nail tech and a beauty service provider is so much more than what you're getting paid," she said.

"I think it's important to note that it's about the people that we meet, it's about the relationships that we build and we get to do this whilst doing something we absolutely love.

"I'm an acrylic nail tech and for years I specialised in sculpted acrylic nails but last year I decided that I didn't like doing them and took them off my treatment list. And that is totally okay. It's one of the reasons why our industry will never become over saturated — because there is a nail tech and a service provider out there for absolutely everybody. I think what has happened in the industry is that people are people pleasing because the client asked."

Just for the record, it's important to keep in mind that beauty is a 'you do you' type of space — and obviously no one can tell you what you can and can't do when it comes to hair, makeup skin or nails.

So, if you love this nail polish colour, go for it!
