By all accounts life in Tudor era England was a bit of a hard knock.
Various plagues like tuberculosis ravaged the country, infant mortality rates were shockingly high, women's life expectancy was well below men and personal hygiene wasn't exactly a priority for people.
Despite the rather unsavoury living conditions it was also a period of great change with King Henry VII and his six wives the talk of town before Elizabeth I took over the reign. It was a time of great religious turmoil, war and the development of society that moved away from medieval practices.
There were many key figures that came to notoriety during this period however, there is one woman who has often sparked plenty of intrigue and mystique after becoming the Queen of England for only nine days before her death. At just 17 years old she was executed at Tower Green after being deemed a threat and was charged with High Treason.
It's a fascinating story with twists, turns, betrayal and drama which of course why it's the perfect material for Prime Video's latest series called My Lady Jane.
