Yes, the MKR final was fake. But that wasn't all...

We loved the MKR final last night. But guess what? It wasn’t real.

Last night 3.7 million viewers tuned in to watch South Australian mums Bree May and Jessica Liebich be crowned the winners of My Kitchen Rules 2014, winning a cool $250,000. They beat WA ‘mean girls’ Chloe and Kelly with an incredible display of their cooking prowess. But how much of the show was actually real?

The proud mums received nine from all of the six judges, receiving a total of 54, just two points ahead of Chloe and Kelly. Both teams performed evenly with an equal amount of hits and misses, however the mums deconstructed chocolate rhubarb tart got them over the line.

“Our families are going to be so proud,” Bree said when they were crowned the winners. “We came here because we wanted to create a better life for our children and husbands.”

“Our whole world has opened up for us now and were so happy to start a new stage of our lives.”

A group of fans had threatened to boycott the show, claiming producers favoured certain teams in the competition. Producers roundly deny this. In reality the show was faked, but in a completely different way than most fans realise.

Here are the My Kitchen Rules moments that were totally fake:
