A man has been charged with murder over the death of his former partner Tina Kontozis at Bundeena south of Sydney.
Ms Kontozis’s body was found at her home on Beachcomber Avenue on Sunday.
Police said a neighbour in the bottom flat of the building called triple-0 about 3:30pm.
Stephen Boyd, 51, was arrested at Braidwood, east of Canberra, after a short police pursuit, just before 5:00pm on Monday.
At the end of the chase, officers said Boyd’s car ran into an embankment and his head hit the steering wheel.
Police said Boyd was initially taken to Queanbeyan District Hospital with a broken jaw and neck injury, before being transferred to Canberra where he underwent surgery.
On Thursday Boyd appeared before the ACT Magistrates Court to be extradited to NSW.
His extradition was approved and he was driven to the Queanbeyan Police Station where he was charged with murder.
Boyd was also charged with contravening a domestic violence order and two counts of assault.
A 17-year-old who was also at the property at the time of the attack was taken to a Sydney hospital with an injured arm and cut to the head.
