1. Mum loses custody of three children after coaching them to lie about their father.

A Queensland mother has lost custody of her three children after a Family Court judge ordered them to formally live interstate with their father.

The decision comes after Justice Sharon Johns found the three children, all aged under 11, were living in a “toxic environment” with their mother and maternal grandmother.

It was found the children’s mother had “extensively coached” her three children, two with cerebral palsy, to falsely accuse their own father of sexually abusing them.

The children had been “extensively coached” by their mother.

In describing the mother and grandmother, Justice Johns said, “[they] promoted and encouraged the children to make disclosures of inappropriate behaviour by the father”.

The Courier Mail reports that the judge decided the allegations of sexual abuse against the father were completely false. No physical evidence to support the claims of abuse were identified and inconsistencies in the children’s statements substantiated their coaching.

The father of the children made further allegations against the mother that this was not the first time she had mistreated their children.

In once incident last year, the mother left her eight-year-old child with cerebral palsy on the side of the road and drove off without him. The same child was also punished by his grandmother by being locked in a wheelie bin after being scared of the dark.

Mr Seymour confirmed the infected patient has “complex medical conditions”, but also spent time away from the hospital during the exposure time.

“The source of the patient’s infection cannot be determined at this stage,” he stated.

“A full scientific investigation of the water supply is underway to determine where exposure to the legionella bacteria may have occurred.”
