What was meant to be a relaxing holiday has become a nightmare for two parents who watched helplessly as a cruise ship with their young children on board sailed away before their eyes.
Spending seven days on board a cruise ship travelling between the US and the Bahamas last week, the family of four were separated four days in, after the mother failed to return from a land excursion on time while docked in Nassau.
After speaking with the ship’s captain, the father agreed to leave his two children — believed to be aged nine and 12 — with an uncle and leave the ship to locate his wife.
But by the time the mother finally arrived back at the port, the ship had already departed, with both parents then left stranded.

It sure looks likes she's got a few shopping bags in that photo ;)
But seriously, I am curious to know now what held her up. Was it selfishly thinking that they would wait for her while she nipped into a few more shops? Or maybe she legitimately got held up with something 100% out of her control? If the latter was the case then it is awful...but not heartbreaking. If it was to do with her issues with time management then that just annoys me but I can also relate! I am a shocker but I would like to think I wouldn't take any risks (i.e. venturing too far etc) if I was in this kind of situation. If she was just swanning around thinking that the ship would wait for her, maybe this was the perfect way to teach her the lesson she probably needed all her life! But yes, who knows...we will hear more now doubt.
I feel sorry for the uncle!
