Model shows the world exactly how easy it is to fake a thigh gap.

For the past few years, the ‘thigh gap’ has been up there as one of the most ridiculous highly sought after social media accessories.

But the idea that a pronounced space between someone’s legs is a ‘beauty’ must-have is both unrealistic and potentially damaging. Model Robyn Lawley labelled the thigh gap “just another tool of manipulation that other people are trying to use to keep me from loving my body.”

"Why would I want to starve and weaken my natural body size?" Lawley asked. "I’m not saying women who have it naturally are unattractive. But I would have to change my entire frame just to achieve something that seems so trivial."

Now fellow model and RunwayRiot editor Iskra Lawrence, who gained popularity with her messages of body-positivity and her refusal to be retouched, has shown us all just how easy it is to fake one.

By changing the angle and proximity of her pose, Lawrence, who wears a size 14, is able to go from no gap to gap in just one flash of a camera. The 25 year old shared the side-by-side comparison with her Instagram followers, along with a pretty clear message- everything is not always as it seems.

"No thigh gap or thigh gap who cares," Lawrence captioned the image. "We all think we want different things and we should because we are all different, there's no wrong way just be the healthiest & happiest for you."

"I'll be the first one to tell you pics are all about good lightening and angles," she said.

Like former social-media darling Essena O'Neill, Lawrence is keen to bring home the message "social media's not real life".

"Never let anyone else's pics make you feel insecure about yourself," she told her 1.8 million followers. "If you don't look like her and she doesn't look like you that's how it's meant to be. You are meant to be YOU no one else, your body is your home so love and respect it. When you look after it beautiful things happens #iskralawrence #everyBODYisbeautiful."

If you have to bend over that much to get a thigh gap, why even bother.
