Sad news in the case of missing "August: Osage County" actress.

A body, discovered on Thursday by a family-led search party near Seattle, has been confirmed as the 32-year-old “August: Osage County” actress Misty Upham.

Tracy Rector, a spokesperson for Misty’s family, says that the cause of death has yet to be revealed.

A statement from the Auburn Police Department says, “there is no initial evidence or information to indicate foul play; however the Medical Examiner will make the final determination.”

Upham’s family has continued to criticise the local police force for their lack of cooperation in the search. Ms Upham had been missing for almost two weeks.

In a Facebook post, the family accused the Auburn Police of having a role in the actress’s disappearance, suggesting Upham slipped down a 150-foot embankment after “she ran into the wooded area behind her apartment to hide from the police.”

Rector told Variety that she and the family believe the Auburn Police Department could have done more to locate the actress.

“We just want to make it clear that the Auburn police had nothing to do with looking for her or finding her,” she said. “It was friends and family that led the search and rescue teams that found Misty.”

Upham was reported missing by her family on Oct. 6, a day after they told police she was suicidal. Her father, Charles Upham, had also noticed that she had stopped taking her medication for anxiety and bi-polar disorder.

Former co-stars including Meryl Streep and Juliette Lewis have paid tribute to Misty.

In a message to the Hollywood Reporter Streep said, “So, so sad to hear this news – all our thoughts are with her family and with her beautiful spirit.”

Lewis who starred along side Streep and Upham in “August: Osage County” posted a picture of herself posing with Upham on Instagram and wrote in the caption, “Misty Upham survived many things that many don’t early on in life. She fought for the voiceless fiercely. She understood suffering and the deepest pain. She had a presence everyone saw and felt.”

“It is this presence that will continue. Out of the dark space in which her light got dimmed. I will remember her as tuff (sic). Wise. Funny. Spiritual. And hopeful.”

“This is another great reminder to call and check on someone when you think to. Not when its too late. RIPMistyUpham.”
