Michael Hutchence‘s only daughter, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily, is about to turn 18.
And her estranged aunt, Michael’s sister Tina Hutchence, has chosen that occasion to beg her to come home to Australia.
In a moving letter published by New Idea, Tina reminds Tiger Lily how much her father loved her, though she was only alive 16 months before he died.
She writes:
“In his 37 years, I don’t remember seeing him look at another person as he did you, with such love.
“You responded to his voice… the anticipation of being in his arms was such that you almost jumped out of mine when you saw him walk toward you.
“You don’t remember how he told you over and over he loved you; but I do. You don’t remember how he held you to his chest and sang in a voice so sweet and gentle until you closed your eyes and drifted off; but I do.”
She continued in an interview with Studio 10 this morning: ‘I know Michael would want you to visit Australia, the country he loved so much. He made certain you had an Australian passport, and he desperately wanted you to spend your formative years here.’
Tiger Lily lost her dad at 16 months, her mother Paula Yates at age 4, and just this year, her half-sister Peaches Geldof. This is an 18 year old aged beyond her years by grief, who might want to gather her remaining family around her. That’s certainly what Tina Hutchence seems to want — here in Australia.
