A major deluge has hit Melbourne causing flash flooding and transport delays as thunderstorms move across the state.
The city was hit with heavy rains this afternoon, causing major delays on the Frankston and Sandringham train lines.
The Bureau of Meteorology said it had recorder 18.4 millimetres of rain in 10 minutes at Oakleigh South and 14.6 millimetres of rain in 10 minutes at St Kilda.
Flights in and out of Melbourne Airport have also been delayed.
The State Emergency Services said it had received more than 100 calls for help.
Emergency services have issued flash flood warnings, including for catchments areas at Werribee, Maribyrnong, Yarra, Dandenong and Bunyip.
The SES said it had reports of a ceiling collapse at a property in Frankston, in Melbourne’s south-east.
VicRoads said several roads were experiencing flooding including, the West Gate Freeway outbound at Kings Way, Albert Road at Canterbury Road, Queens Road and Dudley Street rail overpass.
Mickleham Road, Buckley Street at Footscray, York Street in South Melbourne and Geelong Road have also been flooded.
