You wake up, rub your tired eyes and reach over to embrace your soul mate, a strapping and thoughtful iPhone.
You put in your passcode. You click on ‘Facebook‘. You’re curious as to what critical world events have taken place overnight. Or perhaps a racist acquaintance from high school posted another inappropriate status.
But no. Facebook won’t load. Because the Internet has…disappeared. Maybe Kim Kardashian finally managed to ‘break’ it.
This is the question we put to eight funny chicks; “If the internet was to fail tomorrow, what would your end of the world message be?”
The Melbourne Comedy Festival is one of the three largest comedy festivals in the world, celebrating its 30th year, running right now until 17th April. If you feel like a good ol’ laugh over the next few weeks, book some tickets and go check out these funny chicks.
Here’s what you need to know about them:
Gillian Cosgriff
Award winning comedian Gillian Cosgriff is performing at The Butterfly Club as part of the Melbourne Comedy Festival on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of April at 8:30pm. It’s called “To the Moon and Back” and it’s all about the future and how goddam scary it looks. You can buy tickets here.
Tegan Higginbotham
Tegan is performing at her tenth Melbourne Comedy Festival, and you can see her show at the Greek Centre, Aphrodite’s Room at 7:15pm on the 1st and 2nd of April, or 6:15pm on the 3rd of April. Her segment “The City of Love” is all about the difficulties we face as adults when we actively decide to pursue our dreams. You can buy tickets here.
