Meghan Markle just threw us a fashion curve ball in the form of a positively radiant yellow dress.
Up until now, when it came to the Duchess of Sussex’s post-wedding style, Markle consistently wore beige, blush and neutral-toned outfits – to the point where there was a theory the Queen has ordered her to eschew colour completely.
This might have been an over-reaction. Because attending the Your Commonwealth Youth Challenge reception in London, 36-year-old Markle wore a bright yellow midi dress complete with her signature boat-neckline by American designer Brandon Maxwell. Although Maxwell is best known for his styling work for Lady Gaga, he also counts the likes of ex-first-lady Michelle Obama, model Karlie Kloss and Blake Lively as just some of his devoted fans.
The frock, which retails for a casual $1894, has now sold out. As can be expected.

OK, small explosion here.
Meghan wore this.
Meghan wore that.
WELL, IF MEGHAN JUMPED OFF A CLIFF WOULD YOU ALL FOLLOW HER?
Fashion is an extension of your own personality and while Meghan may never have to worry where the next meal is coming from, she is forced, in public, to never wear an outfit that wouldn't grace the pages of Woman's Weekly or doesn't go well with pearls.
It's a chiffon prison.

It must be rather galling to be reduced down by the press to being a clothes horse and/or wife of a prince.
