In a series of video posts, the 41-year-old model describes how she struggled to tell the story of how she discovered she had lost her second child with partner Shaun Hampson just before her eight-week scan.

In one video, Gale details the guilt she felt after her obstetrician told her the news.

"I was just so shocked and I just felt so sad," she said.

"Immediately you just go into a bit of blame as well."

"Like, 'What have I done? What have I done...how did I?' You're charged with this responsibility for growing this life and carrying it through," she said.

"I think it’s very natural with miscarriage to have this feeling of, you’ve really dropped the ball, you’ve somehow played a part...and that’s not the case, or not always the case, anyway."

Gale, who is mother to two-year-old son River, shared how she "just knew" that something wasn't right during her second pregnancy.

"I can’t put my finger on it—there was no physical change or a sign or symptom…[I wondered] if I was being overprotective and paranoid, or if something was wrong," she said.

"I hopped up on the table and [my obstetrician] put the ultrasound on my tummy. He just kept moving it and not saying anything and I started to feel sick.

"He was quiet, and then he just said, ‘I’m so sorry, it’s gone.'"

After going public with her story, Gale thanked fans for their support.

"I seriously deliberated over and whether or not I was making the right decision by telling [the miscarriage story]," Gale wrote on Instagram.

"But judging from the outpouring of support and the positive response it was absolutely, 100% the right call. Thank you to everyone on behalf of Shaun and myself for your lovely comments today. It means more than you know and a HUGE thank you to all of you who have bravely spoken up and shared your stories."
