Warning: this post deals with a horrific murder and a suicide and may be very distressing for some readers.
UPDATE:
Marcus Volke, who allegedly murdered and dismembered his wife Mayang Prasetyo in their Brisbane apartment, had worked as a male sex worker prior to his death.
Volke was a sex worker in Copenhagen, Denmark, and then worked for a time in a Melbourne brothel alongside his late wife, the Courier Mail reports.
He advertised himself in Denmark as, “Young sexy Australian boy, very friendly and easy going, discreet and professional”, the Courier Mail reports.
It was originally reported the pair met on an international cruise ship while Volke was working as a chef, but a friend of the couple has since told the Daily Mail Australia he had never been a chef.
The couple had covered up their secret because of “the life they were leading”, the friend said.

It is a crime almost too hard to comprehend.

The Courier Mail reported on this with a disgusting headline using a horrible outdated transphobic slur i haven't heard in years. Despicable.
I saw this at the supermarket - A huge picture of her and a disgusting headline - I never buy this paper and this is exactly why! Backward morons making up headlines a teenager would spit out!
I would say there are too many comparisons to criminal minds in this mental cases story....... unbelievable - sadness for the family.....
I live in this building and I can't believe that this has happened in my suburb let alone my building. It is truly horrific and to quote the detective that took my statement "one of the worst crimes seen in Brisbane for many years". This has completely shocked and devastated the residents. Most of us have only just moved in, in the last four weeks. The media attention has been exhausting and completely ruthless - journalists have no respect for the other residents of the building. We still have to live there and are trying to go about our daily lives.
Much of what the media is reporting is completely untrue, especially surrounding the timeline of events. The woman was last seen and spoken to on Thursday by the building manager, and the smell did not start until Friday. People are reporting about hearing an argument earlier during the week. This argument was in fact located in the building behind ours. Don't believe everything you read.
God, what a shock! Hope you are okay...
