The masturbation tissues the world probably didn't need.

So here’s a product the world probably didn’t need: Spankrags.

Let me elaborate. Spankrags are basically tissues with the faces of attractive women plastered on them, to be used purely for masturbation. Yep.

Spankrags were created by Irish and German designers Jonathan Courtney and Thomas Viehweger, who were concerned that there were far less sex toys available to men than to women. Fair enough.

But while they are kind of funny (kinda), they are also kind of gross.

Because is it just us – or is there something super confronting about this product? The way it objectifies women and reduces their faces and mouths to nothing but sperm receptacles?

Here are a few examples:

And another:

And another:

And another:

You get the picture. But don’t worry, Spankrags are nothing if not inclusive…they are bringing out a men’s range any day now. Thank goodness.

But now, over to you.

What do you think of Spankrags? Harmless fun, or offensive?

Here are some that we are definitely Not Ok With.

Porn for men very often objectifies women - that's the fantasy - sexy women always ready to satisfy men. Why must objectification always have such negative overtones? You know, in the same way that action films with male stars objectify men - portraying them as emotionless killing machines and/or bullet-fodder.

We all know that, in reality, men get scared when people shoot at them, they don't like it at all, they don't want to go around killing people, and they don't want to die. And we all know that, in reality, women do not spend all day with their mouths wide open waiting for a man to come over their face.

The problem comes when people can't see the clear line between fantasy and reality. Sex is reality. Porn is fantasy. Why the image of a woman's face being splashed with semen is such a turn on is frankly hard to explain - it just is. But why people want to see films where men kill and be killed is not only equally hard to explain - it is even harder to justify. But none of it needs to be a problem - so long as you can distinguish between fantasy or reality.

People who cannot distinguish between fantasy and reality are the problem - not porn. Unfortunately, such people do exist, which ruins the fun for everyone.

Because a latex disembodied penis doesn't objectify men at all...
