All the single fellas, put your hands up!
And then put on a tux. And then stand at the end of an aisle, waiting for a stranger to come and ‘marry’ you.
Sound good? Then GREAT NEWS.
Married At First Sight, the reality show that involves four couples meeting at their own (fake) wedding, and then living together as husband and wife for a few weeks, is looking for applicants.
Well, men. They are looking for men.
Channel Nine has had the online applications open for a little while, and have already received an ‘overwhelming response’. Though we are beginning to suspect that their applicants have been mostly female.
Why? Because we assume women would be more likely to pretend-marry a complete stranger?
No. Because all of the online ads are targeted at men, and Channel Nine are even sending out application invitations to fire stations, gyms, labourers, and other male-heavy businesses.
So what does the application involve? The usual. Naked dancing around a fire, the blood of a verile man, etc. Just kidding. The online application has various questions under categories such as ‘About You’, ‘Relationships’ and ‘Medical & Legal’. It also requires a one-minute video. GAHHHH.
Apparently, same-sex couples may feature in Season 2. “They have a discreet question under the Partner section that asks the gender of their preferred partner, male or female”, a spokesperson from the casting agent told TV Tonight.
