1. Man charged with abducting teenage girl in Bendigo.
Police have arrested a 38-year-old man in connection to the suspected kidnapping of a teenage girl in central Victoria this week, ABC News reports.
Victorian police yesterday located the 18-year-old girl, who is now believed to have been held captive for more than 24 hours.
ABC News reports the woman, who cannot be identified, was found in a car in Maiden Gully late yesterday afternoon,
The girl was reported missing earlier this week, after she went missing while running in One Tree Regional Park in Bendigo.
2. Eight-year-old boy saves his mother by calling 000.
When eight-year-old Bailey Wrigley found he couldn’t wake his mother one day, he sprung into action.
His mother, Andrea, had gone to bed earlier that day because she was feeling sick — and when Bailey couldn’t wake her later that day, he called Triple Zero.
“My mummy is falling sick,” he told the emergency operator.
“I’m trying to wake her up, she keeps opening her eyes but she doesn’t wake up.”
According to Channel Nine, Bailey followed the operator’s instructions for 20 minutes, detailing his mother’s symptoms and counting her breaths.
It was later revealed Ms Wrigley’s sinus infection had spread to her brain.
