Terrifying bus attack caught on camera.

Terrifying video footage of a man shattering his fists on the front windscreen of a Sydney bus in what is being called a racist attack has emerged.

The footage records the man as he stands at the front windshield with what appears to be a windscreen wiper in his hand. He blinks slowly, an eerily calm state washing over him before he suddenly swings his arm back and to beat the glass.

Passengers cry out in horror as they remain trapped, unable to escape his wild assault.

The man drops the wiper after several blows and begins to use his fits as a way to break through to those inside. He repeatedly beats his fists into the cracking glass, even as it splinters into his fists and arms.

“He’s actually cutting himself!” One passenger says.

The man had been travelling through Sydney’s north on a Lane Cove bus when fellow passengers allege he became enraged with an Asian couple sitting at the front of the bus.

Reports posted on social media have said the man stood, clenched his fists and began walking towards the couple.

He was only stopped by an elderly woman who is reported to have said, “Stop, you’ve harassed them enough.”

The man is said to have replied, “I was just returning him his chopsticks.”

The victim of the abuse reportedly reacted to this, saying, “What are you going on about, I wasn’t eating anything. What are you trying to say?”

It was then the man was ejected from the bus by the driver and the wild assault began.

He is currently in hospital under police guard as medical officers treat his wounds.

The attacker isn't Anglo - he looks South Asian himself? Mentally ill for sure. It is also strange to headline this as "terrifying" when clearly all are safe on board with the police a call away. Contrast this with Istanbul only this morning and a car bomb attack that killed over 20, and injured another 75. Thank our lucky stars, folks!

Not necessarily mentally ill. He could be under the influence. It's very strange. But he seemed to have a lot of strength and wasn't feeling pain and I've heard of ice doing that. Most mentally ill people are not violent. Even when having a psychotic break. :) drugs seems more likely.
