Hi friends!
Welcome to Open Post. If you’re new here, this is the place where we come together and talk about our weeks – the good, the bad, the ugly. I’m Caitlin and I’m particularly excited to be hosting Open Post this week because it’s my first week working for Mamamia!
It’s been a pretty crazy week for me… a week full of firsts. First time moving out of home, first time moving interstate, first full time job… you get the point.
To say it’s been a struggle is an understatement. Here are a few things I’ve found the most difficult.
1. Grocery shopping.
WHAT DO I EAT?! I wandered the aisles aimlessly before throwing in multiple boxes of Jatz and Arnott’s Shapes, and of course, a huge tin of Milo. Great life lesson: Go shopping on a full stomach so you don’t go crazy and buy all the things.
2. Giving up sleep ins
My life before full time work was staying up until the early hours of the morning and never waking up before 11am. The transition is SO HARD and I constantly look like I’ve been awake for four days straight.
3. Buying furniture
Having never decorated a room before, I was as terrified as furniture shopping as I was about grocery shopping. Thankfully, I read this article before starting my shop and headed straight to Kmart to deck out my room. Obviously it looks amazing.
Anyway, over to you! How has your week been?

Hello all, hope you're enjoying hump day :) got my hair coloured back to dark again yesterday !!! Love it and got so many compliments.
My back pain is getting better (Bootcamp injury...sad but true) and they have agreed to stop the fees until I get better which is great.
Relationship with my 19 yr old is on the mend, happy days!
Bullying issues at work at the moment, I'm not involved but was called in for 1 on 1 as all team members had to be made aware. My feedback was positive but it made for an awkward day in the office.
Looking forward to catching up with my girlfriend this weekend :) life is good generally x
Finding a new place to live is exhausting. My husband and me are moving to another city at the end of the year and are currently looking for a new apartment. However, there are hardly any places on offer and if they are, they are usually gone within a few days. As we´re living 4 hours away we can´t just arrange for inspections on the same day as others can. Urgh, am so over it already and the stressful time has only just started...
Maybe it's worth asking an agent to find you a place? You can usually tell them your price range and the area you want to live in, and they'll find something for you. Just remember to ask for a 6 month lease, in case you hate it!
