Best and Worst: How's your week been?

The view from our breakfast by the seaside. Divine.

My oh my how this week flew by – as always seems to be the case when I’m lucky enough to have a week off uni.

Good news is it’s that special time again: time to share your highlights (best) and lowlights (worst) of the week, and also what’s been on your mind (“on my mind”: OMM).

So here’s my contribution to kick things off…

Best: This week I was lucky enough to have a visit from my two younger sisters. Although we only live an hour apart, I don’t get to see them very often so this was a special occasion that called for much excitement!

I tried to be the best big sister I could be by packing as much as humanly possible into 36 hours – shopping in the city, The Easter Show, strolling down King Street in Newtown and self-inducing chocolate comas at San Churo.

But my highlight of the week by far was taking my sisters to Dunbar House in Watsons Bay for breakfast by the seaside – magical! We had a smorgasbord of buttermilk pancakes, waffles with honeycomb butter, banana and walnut bread, coffee and bacon. Enough said.

My cat Prue. She may look sweet and cuddly but she can be a real grump.

Worst: My partner has been on a sailing trip all week and I’ve been home alone most nights, talking to the cat. Don’t get me wrong, I love my cat – she’s incredibly cute and loving (when she feels like it), but the conversation has been one-sided and her mood swings are often worse than my own. I’m looking forward to his home coming tonight, pending good weather of course!

OMM: This week, I’ve been thinking a lot about weddings and babies. Not for myself (sorry to disappoint you, mum!) but more because I feel like I am surrounded by people who are getting engaged, planning weddings and having children. Is it just me or does everyone seem to do this at the same time? It’s as if one person decides to “take the leap” and everyone else follows suit. I’m not looking forward to the perpetually never-ending gifting… I’ve been warned things get very expensive very quickly.

So that’s my week in a nutshell. What has everyone else been up to?
