Best and Worst: How's your week been?

Should you change your name when you get married? Candice is weighing up her decision.

Welcome to Best and Worst – a space for the Mamamia community to share what’s happening in their lives.

If you’re new to this segment, this is how it works. I’ll kick-off the celebrations, debates, bemoaning and queries by sharing the best and worst bits of my week. And then it’s over to you.

Best

This week marks my last six months as someone’s fiancé. That’s right, in November of this year I will marry my partner Nathan – and let me exercise my bridal right here to use such clichés as ‘The One.’

If you haven’t clicked away after that display of emotion, here’s my worst.

Nath and I in Morocco.

Worst

I’m still feeling conflicted about the name changer. I have always been quite certain that I would keep my (already double barrelled) surname, though all of a sudden I’m not so sure.

Beautiful Morocco.

There are those of us that will change our names, those that won’t. Those that will agonise over their decision and still others that won’t blink an eyelid. Some will feel as if they are losing their identity and some will gain an identity. Then there are those who will opt for the double barrel and even some who will outright pick and choose shiny new surnames.

And I’m not so sure which of those categories I fall into just yet – if any. Which did you choose? Or which do you find yourself gravitating towards?
