Married At First Sight stars Zoe Hendrix and Alex Garner welcomed their first child together, daughter Harper-Rose, in November.
Since then, their social media feeds have been filled with happy family photos and adorable snaps of Harper-Rose sleeping that are just too cute for words.
Now, 27-year-old Zoe has shared her most candid photo yet, opening up about how she struggled to breastfeed when he daughter was first born.
Zoe shared the image, of her breastfeeding Harper, to encourage the normalisation of breastfeeding, telling her followers that “our bodies are extraordinary”.
“We must never forget or be made to feel we are doing anything but what our breasts were created to do!” she wrote.
Zoe also shared that it took her a “good two weeks” to get the hang of breastfeeding.
“Like a new pair of shoes my boobs had to be worn in boot camp style! (Ouch)” she wrote.
“Both Harper & I had to learn the art of attachment and it wasn’t easy. I had days I wanted to give up. Thank god for the nipple shield which was a godsend when I needed in those early days when my nips resembled a crime scene.
“And now when I feed my baby, I marvel at the perfect nourishment my body produces and I am so grateful and honoured I can breastfeed her, especially acknowledging it can be for many a horrible ordeal for a myriad of reasons.”
The post isn’t the first time Zoe has shared a breastfeeding snap with her 71,000 followers.
Three weeks ago she shared another image of Harper-Rose’s “dinner time”.
Zoe has maintained an open and honest account of motherhood with her fans, sharing stories of her painful labour and lack of sleep.
“I think it’s important that we stay honest about the the highs and lows of parenting…screw the fake crap,” she wrote two weeks ago.
“I’ve never been so exhausted… and some moments I think damn I’m doing great, then in the next moment I think I’m not cut out to be the supermum this beautiful girl deserves.”

This struggle isn't abnormal the struggle to breast feed, as far I know most women struggle. You are lucky to have figured it out. Having said this I feel there needs to be an acknowledgement of those women that despite many attempts to get pregnant, through IVF and/or have had to struggle with the pain and loss of miscarriage that aren't as lucky there needs to be more conversations around this. You are so lucky. I suggest there needs to be more about the struggles for those who can't have a child naturally. Good luck in the future.
Its not a competition and there is room for articles on all the struggles of motherhood, it doesn't have to be one struggle and not the other.
I'm also pretty sure Zoe did in fact have a miscarry and she documented that.
I find your comments odd.
