After approximately 14,000 episodes, there is light at the end of the Married at First Sight tunnel.

But that doesn’t mean the rumours and gossip is over.

The latest MAFS rumour is that Elizabeth, a.k.a one of our only remaining hopes for an actual, successful couple out of this season, left the experience without (fake) husband Seb Guilhaus before the final vows.

Upsetting? Yes. Surprising? Absolutely not. True? Also… unlikely.

Here’s what we know about the upcoming MAFS final vows.

Elizabeth fled… but came back.

The Daily Mail has obtained images (see them here) that show Elizabeth, 28, leaving the MAFS apartments with her belongings and driving to her hometown of Newcastle in late November, just days before the final vows.

She was helped by a female producer but no camera crew filmed as she left to head 160 kilometres north.

Photos show that not long after her car left, the same female producer was with Seb, 30, who then took off to walk around Sydney for about an hour.

Obviously this all points to trouble for the couple, but… well, the rumour is suspicious as the same publication reported that Elizabeth and Seb still filmed their final vows just days later on December 3. They also reportedly return for the cast reunion which was filmed on January 14.

Connie thinks we’ll all understand her after the final vows air.

For weeks, we’ve watched Connie write ‘stay’ while her (fake) husband Jonethen has desperately tried to leave the experiment and their (fake) marriage.

Speaking to A.B and Ben on Hit 105.5’s Coff’s Coast Connie hinted producers may have had a hand in her decisions.

“At the end of the day, it’s a TV show and there are storylines. Producers like to do whatever they can to execute that storyline.

“No one held a gun to my head and I was the one who put that pen to the paper and wrote ‘stay’. I take full ownership that I was the one who wrote it,” she said.

Jonny had made it clear he wasn’t into their relationship, so why did she keep choosing to stay?

“Everyone has been saying like, ‘WTF, why did she do that?

“I think if everyone is a little bit patient and just waits until the final vows, the storyline kind of plays out and it’s like, oh, we get it now,” she explained.

Connie confirmed the pair didn’t end on good terms, slamming her (fake) (ex?) husband for choosing a paid club promotion over her birthday celebrations earlier in March.

The MAFS final vows air on Sunday, March 29.
