Married At First Sight's Nic has opened up about Jessika's "awkward" cheating conversation.

Before Jessika Power and Dan Webb cheated on Married At First Sight, Jessika had another plan.

That plan involved trying to cheat with Nic Jovanovic.

And like well, all MAFS cheating scandals, it did not end well for her.

The Newcastle electrician bluntly rejected the Perth part-time model’s advances, telling her: “I’m married… I don’t want to do this. I don’t want to talk about this because it’s not right.”

Jessika later said the version we saw on TV was not a true depiction of the events, and OMG no, how can that be?

The 26-year-old hinted to Talking Married that Nic had shown interest in her too, but played innocent in front of the cameras.

“The thing with Nic, throughout the experiment we were really close, we would have flirty banter, it was childish,” she said.

“It’s been really misconstrued. Nic gave me a different idea than he gives the viewers.”

Well… now Nic has shared his side of the story.

The 28-year-old told Talking Married he and Jessika had “a lot of banter” but he didn’t think he’d given her any impression he was interested in her.

“It was a very awkward situation. I didn’t know it was coming, I didn’t know I was going to be in that position,” he said.

“I’m a bit of a flirty person, but I’d hate to think that I did give her the wrong impressions. Personally, I don’t think I did, but I’m a pretty friendly guy,” Nic said.

He said the chat started with Jessika checking in on Nic and seeing how he was going, but then she definitely made a move on him.

“It sort of then escalated really quickly to, you know, ‘if things don’t work out, maybe we could catch up’ … I think she’s a very attractive girl, I think she’s very pretty … but my eyes are on Cyrell and I’m married, so that’s how I’d like to keep it,” Nic insisted.

He told the panel he and Cyrell were still working through some issues, but were in a good place.

“There’s so much fun and it’s exciting, you never know what you’re going to get [with Cyrell],” he said. “It’s good.”
