'We were intimate that night.' What we know about the Married At First Sight cheating scandal.

We have been gifted a cheating scandal on Married At First Sight this year, and I’d like to thank the reality TV gods for knowing what I need to get through the week. 

(To be fair, no one is even shocked by this because there’s been a cheating scandal every year on the show since 2018 where it all began with Davina and Dean, but anyway.)

So Dramatic! originally reported that the cheating scandal this season was going to take place between two couples: Claire and Jesse and Janelle and Adam.

Let’s be honest, is anyone surprised that Claire and Jesse are involved? The pair started off on the wrong foot and have been going downhill ever since. Jesse started off as a walking red flag and Claire is too pure for this world, so how would it ever work out?

From being told she’s too loud, gives him the 'ick' with her belief in star signs, being mocked for the way she talks, and not getting a well-deserved apology, it seems Claire may have has looked elsewhere for comfort. 

On the other hand, Janelle and Adam’s involvement in the cheating scandal is slightly more of a surprise because they seemed to be doing well – well, until Janelle’s brothers revealed his cheating past.

So Dramatic! reported that Adam cheated on his fiancée a week before their wedding almost nine years ago. 

So, what happened between Claire and Adam?

"A bunch of contestants went out drinking together at a pub and Claire and Adam went off to have a vape together and that’s when it happened," an 'insider' told So Dramatic! 

"They have a little snog behind their partners' backs during a night out."

And now the rumours have been confirmed – with Claire admitting on camera that she and Adam kissed on that fateful evening. Oh, and she also said that Adam had asked her to keep their smooch a secret. 

Speaking on Nova's Fitzy and Wippa, Claire said the kiss lasted "two seconds, three seconds max".

"I think it was a, it was a mutual thing. I mean... he's a charismatic guy we got along, we're laughing you know, and we vibed you know."

According to the Daily Mail, producers of the show were furious at the cast for publicly cheating, so much so that they established an 8pm curfew for the entire MAFS cast. 

"They weren't angry that it happened. They were just pissed off it didn't happen with cameras around," a source claimed.

Since the scandal had already hit headlines, Channel Nine went running with it, promoting the 'cheating scandal' episode with real iPhone footage from the cast’s night out. 

But what played out on television was a smidge different. 

After the night out, Jesse immediately smells a rat and is suspicious of Adam and Claire. In response, the pair deny and tried to throw Jesse off the scent. 

"Jesse is made to look like he’s crazy until it all comes out eventually," an anonymous source, who claims to be a part of this year's cast, told So Dramatic!

"Eventually, it came out that they did kiss after they lied. They gaslighted the crap out of him and everyone turned on Jesse because of it… which made the whole thing so much worse," So Dramatic! claimed.

And this week, even more gossip has been revealed! And it's A LOT.

On the We've Done The MAFS podcast, co-host Chantelle Schmidt asked Janelle if she thought there was "any truth" behind the initial accusation that Claire and Adam had kissed.

Janelle explained that initially she had no reason not to trust Adam, saying she believed the accusations to be false during the experiment. Her opinion has likely changed now that all of this info has emerged...

In the podcast interview, Janelle also revealed that she and Adam had sex on that night when it all went down.

"Me and Adam were literally cuddling on the couch all night. We were even intimate that night."

Which means... the night Adam cheated by kissing Claire, he then went home and had sex with Janelle without being honest about what had occurred a few hours earlier.

Oh Lordy.
