The first trailer for the darkly funny new Stan series Lucky Hank is here.

The first trailer for the upcoming Stan series Lucky Hank is here, and it promises us that a darkly funny new comedy is on the way.

Set at Railton College, Lucky Hank is the story of William Henry “Hank” Devereaux, played by Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk, a man who would be the first person to tell you that he's currently in the middle of a mid-life crisis.

Hank is the unlikely chairman of the college's English department, situated in a badly under-funded college in a tiny, working-class American town.

Take a look at the trailer for the new Stan series Lucky Hank.

The audience soon learns that Hank’s intense discontent with both his job and his life is rooted in unresolved issues with his father. And, of course, the fact that he feels as if he's teaching a class of mediocre and entitled students.

Add in the fact that his department is more savagely divided than the Balkans, and it's not hard to see why Hank has a breakdown in front of his students, and later goes on to say that "80 per cent of adult life is misery."

In the series, Mireille Enos plays Hank's emotionally grounded and unflappable wife Lily Devereaux, who is also the Vice Principal of the local high school in rural Pennsylvania where they live.

As Hank’s life starts to unravel, Lily also begins to question the path she’s on and the choices she’s made.

Also starring in the cast is Olivia Scott Welch (Panic, Marvel’s Agent Carter), Suzanne Cryer (Silicon Valley) Diedrich Bader (Miss Congeniality), Sara Amini (Find Me), Cedric Yarbrough (Reno 911, Bones) and guest stars Oscar Nuñez (The Office), Tom Bower (Crazy Heart), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) and Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley).

Aaron Zelman (Damages, Law & Order, Criminal Minds) and Paul Lieberstein (The Office, Space Force, The Newsroom), who adapted the project from the novel Straight Man by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Russo, serve as co-showrunners as well as executive producers on Lucky Hank.

The brand new series Lucky Hank premieres 20 March, same day as the U.S. and only on Stan.
