When Brittany Blake decided to spend the day with her boyfriend at Disneyland’s Epcot Centre in Florida she didn’t expect to lose him, and for his phone battery to die.
The Boston woman told Mamamia that her boyfriend had been looking around the Nemo aquarium at theme park, while she waited outside.
But when he failed to the return to her, Brittany turned to social media for help.
She decided to post in the Annual Passholders — Walt Disney World Resort Facebook group, writing that she could use a hand in finding her boyfriend, Regory Turco.
“Weird post but lost my boyfriend in Epcot today and haven’t been able to find him for hours because his phone is dead. If anyone sees him can they tell him to meet us at the Mexican pavillion?” she wrote in the Facebook group.
“PS — I’m the one who’s nervous here because I hate being alone lmao. He’s prob off drinking,” she added.
She accompanied the post with a photo of her boyfriend, who was in a very unique Hawaiian shirt.
Within two hours, 1300 people had commented on the post. While most of them were making fun of Blake, others were genuinely trying to help her find her boyfriend, and eventually the hashtags #FINDREGORY #FINDBRITTANYBF were created.
As time passed, group members began to fret… they wanted updates.
“Well? Did Brittany find him?” one person asked.
“Following — need to know how it ends! Where does she find him? Does someone else find him first?” another commented.
But with 15 minutes left before the theme park closed, she received a promising tip.
Three hours after the original post, one Disneylander spotted Regory… in line for the Frozen ride. All on his own.
Speaking to Mamamia, Brittany says Regory hasn’t specified how he spent the whole three hours apart, but that he had been “enjoying Epcot”.
But it turns out Regory actually had no idea he was being looked for, and only found out about the social media search the next day.
He explained to Mamamia that he thought he had been ditched, so spent the day… enjoying himself.

That's nothing! Last week I too was eating dumplings... at Highpoint's Dumplings Plus, while my fiance was in Target, supposedly. His phone battery was low, and I guess he just decided to browse in Tommy Hilfiger, Milligram & a bookshop. Finally found him at Starbucks enoying a strawberry frappuccino. Oh, and he was wearing a blue polo top and jeans. Outrageous and a real rib-tickling story, right? Did I mention we forgot where we parked for a full five minutes? I know, right! ROFL. If only I had Facebook I just know this would have gone viral.
Did anyone else find this a nothing story? I figured it was going to be "when she finally found him, he had set up an elaborate proposal" or something to make it noteworthy. A tad anti-climatic MM..
