How to create a Spring Racing lip colour that actually lasts.

Image: Supplied.

Putting a bright colour on your lips for a day at the races (or a wedding, or a party…) is one thing. Making it stay there, however, is quite another — especially when you have canapes and a few too many glasses of champagne to contend with.

The clever team from Benefit Cosmetics dropped into The Glow HQ to school us on races-friendly makeup techniques. Consider this your guide to lasting lips, modelled here by The Glow‘s editor Edwina. (Post continues after video.)

How it’s done…

Step 1: Apply lip and cheek stain as a base.

Step 2: Apply a hydrating balm.

Step 3: Finish with a coloured gloss.

Step 4: If you want to be a perfectionist, use a hard-angled brush and apply Erase Paste Concealer to get rid of any colour that’s bled.

Here's the lineup.

What we used

Team Benefit Australia used the following four products to create Eddie's look:

Posie Tint lip and cheek stain ($55)

Posie Balm ($26)

Ultra Plush Lip Gloss. Lollibop ($23)

Erase Paste Concealer, light ($47)
