Logies highlights. Did you watch?

I did. It’s my job you see. Seriously. If I wasn’t blogging, I would have glanced at the red carpet to see Lisa and called it a night. In case that IS what you did, or in case you found the red carpet coverage lacking, I have posted a comprehensive LOGIES FROCKWATCH so you can see the Good the Bad and the What Was She Thinking.

I’ll let you be the judge of who belongs in which category. I was tweeting last night but I did pledge early on to only say positive things. That was because all the negative things had already been taken by the fast-flowing twitter stream, some of which was amusing and much of which was just nasty.

Here is one of my highlights: Shaun Micalef’s acceptance speech when he won Best Presenter:

In my other favourite moment, Matt Preston won 2 Logies – one for best new talent (IS THIS THE FIRST TIME THAT AWARD HAS NOT BEEN WON BY AN INARTICULATE 19 YEAR OLD FROM HOME & AWAY??) and also the Grahame Kennedy Award For Something Or Other. Translated into English this means he won one award from the public and one from the industry. Critical and commercial acclaim.

TV casting people are you listening??? Why can’t we have more interesting and original casting like Matt? See how there can be popular and talented people who DON’T have blonde hair, size 8 jeans and a spray tan?

I also adored kd lang’s performance of Hallelujuah. Although the chat with Bert afterwards almost killed the memory for me.

Glad Alf won the Gold. Love a sentimental fave.
