Welcome to Shocker, Hero and Whinger of the Week.
Here’s how it works: Each week, we pick the biggest Shocker, Hero and Whinger from the last seven days. Shocker is whatever moment or person left our jaws on the floor. Hero is whoever won the week by being awesome. And whinger? Well, that’s pretty much just someone who has had a major sooky-la-la moment. Let’s do this.
Shocker of the week goes to…
The lizard head that a New York City woman found in her salad. She thought it was a piece of asparagus. “But then I saw the eye,” she told local news.
Um… Extra protein?
Hero of the week goes to…
Mohammed Rashid, who broke the ever-elusive ‘most walnuts cracked open with head in a minute’ record. His successful attempt in Pakistan (in which he cracks a CRAZY 155 walnuts) is pretty damn mesmerising to watch:
Whinger of the week goes to…
The guy who called the cops when his 10-kilo cat trapped him and his family in the bedroom.
Apparently, after owner Lee Palmer kicked him for being naughty, Lux the cat went so crazy that the family had to take refuge behind a locked door while Lee desperately called the police for help:
A recording of the call went viral, and rumours of a ‘monster cat’ quickly spread through the interwebs.
Then a picture of the cat was released and all of a sudden the Palmer family’s ‘ordeal’ didn’t seem quite so dramatic:
They really had to lock themselves in a bedroom? REALLY? Listen to the hilarious recording of Palmer family’s desperate 911 call right here.
So who’s your Shocker, Hero and Whinger of the Week?

Hero? That guy's a freaking masochistic idiot for doing that to himself!
I'm sorry, I love this site, but how can a man cracking walnuts with us head be called a hero? Seriously? The definition of hero is "a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities."
This is the sort of person that should be held up as a hero
