Australian netball champion Liz Ellis, 43, and her husband Matthew Stocks welcomed their second child, a brother to their 4-year-old daughter Evelyn, into the world last night.
Confirming the wonderful news to Women’s Weekly, Liz has also shared the quirky name of her newborn son.
In a statement the sporting star said: “We are happy to announce the arrival of a baby brother for Evelyn. Austin Ralph Stocks was born last night. He weighs 4.37kg, is 52 cm and has a full head of hair”.
Ellis broke the news of her pregnancy and cited the arduous fertility struggles she and her husband encountered along the way – including four gruelling years of IVF and three miscarriages – on The Project in October last year.
“It’s been four long years, I’ve had five rounds of IVF and three miscarriages, but finally, I am pregnant,” Ellis happily announced.
“We’ve got a beautiful little girl, Evelyn, who turned four a couple of weeks ago.
“You learn a lot about yourself and your partner through this process. And it’s been a really long time coming and it’s really exciting.”
