A sex list and attempted kidnapping: Just 13 things we forgot about Lindsay Lohan's past.

We watched her rise to fame as a child actress and now Lindsay Lohan is gracing our screens every week on the addictive new reality show, The Masked Singer. 

But flying half way across the world to watch a giant prawn sing on stage isn’t the weirdest thing that’s happened in Lohan’s life.

It’s not even close.

After Lohan made a name for herself playing twins in the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap, she became a Disney child star, appearing in such films as Get a Clue and Freaky Friday. But after she starred in classic cult comedy, Mean Girls, in 2004, things got… weird.

Lohan became wrapped up in a famous feud, picked up some unusual accents, starred in her own reality show and even became a… meme. It was a lot.

Here are 13 things we’re forgotten about Lindsay Lohan’s peculiar past.

1. She claimed she personally saved 40 Indian children.

In 2009, Lohan told a BBC documentary she had personally saved 40 Indian children from a sweatshop. And activists weren’t too happy about it.

“Over 40 children saved so far… Within one day’s work… This is what life is about… Doing THIS is a life worth living,” she tweeted at the time.

However, the charity that organised the sweatshop raid later said Lohan wasn’t even in the country when it happened.

So… yeah.

2. She inspired a fashion line of ankle bracelet bags.

After spending 90 days in jail for possession of cocaine and DUIs back in 2010, Lohan was fitted with a SCRAM alcohol monitoring bracelet.

But a chunky piece of black plastic didn’t stop Lohan from living her best life. She was seen proudly rocking her fashion accessory out on the streets of LA, at night clubs and… even, erm, at the beach.

3. She famously feuded with Hilary Duff.

Back in 2004, Lohan was caught in a love triangle with fellow Disney star Hilary Duff over singer Aaron Carter.

At the time, Duff was playing Lizzie McGuire and Lohan was getting ready to star in Mean Girls. 

Duff and Carter originally started dating in 2001, after meeting on the set of Lizzie McGuire. Over a year later, Carter began seeing Lohan but then went back to Duff.

The feud was reignited when Lohan appeared on Saturday Night Live in 2004 and poked fun at Duff, who Rachel Dratch had dressed up as. The portrayal was a tad over-the-top to say the least and it did not sit well with Duff.

More than a decade on, Lohan and Duff have put the feud to rest. And they’re both certainly over Aaron Carter.

4. She told people to stop being upset about Hurricane Sandy.

When Hurricane Sandy first hit the United States in 2012, Lohan took to Twitter to tell people to stop making such a big fuss about it. Yes, really.

“WHY is everyone in SUCH a panic about hurricane? STOP projecting negativity! Think positive and pray for peace!” she wrote on Twitter.

5. She was on a TV show for being a hoarder.

In 2010, Lohan had a whole TV show dedicated to her and the fact she was secret hoarder.

Professional organiser, Linda Koopersmith, gave Lohan’s condo a much-needed makeover, during the three-part series Lindsay Lohan: Secret Celebrity Hoarder. 

6. She has many… accents.

In the past few years, Lohan has been confusing fans with her bizarre repertoire of accents.

She’s been heard speaking in a Mediterranean and an Arabic accent during interviews.

And there seems to be no logical explanation for it.

But we do know that she’s spent time in Greece opening nightclubs and working with Syrian refugees in Turkey, so perhaps she picked up a few different accents from there. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

7.  She made a list of every famous people she’d slept with.

While filming her reality TV show, Lohan wrote a “sex list” of all the rich and famous men she had slept with.

It quickly made headlines when it was leaked online.

The list of 36 names included A-list Hollywood actors Justin Timberlake, Ashton Kutcher and Orlando Bloom.

8. She called the police because she’d lost her phone.

Look, we’ve all been there. You reach in your handbag and realise your phone which you thought you had on you, isn’t there. Panic quickly sets in.

But after that initial mini heart attack, most of us do the next logical thing and take a deep breath before retracing our steps.

Not Lohan though.

Back in 2009, Lohan called the NYPD because she had left her phone in a deli.

9. She dated That 70’s Show actor Wilmer Valderrama.

Lindsay Lohan and Wilmer Valderrama’s relationship made headlines when they broke up in 2004.

The That 70’s Show actor had reportedly started dating Lohan when she was 17 and he was 24.

Although their relationship was short-lived, Lohan told American radio host Howard Stern that he was her first high-profile boyfriend.

At the time, rumours were whirling that Valderrama broke up with Lohan for Ashlee Simpson. But Valderrama has since denied it.

10. She was accused of stealing a necklace.

In 2011, Lohan allegedly walked out of an LA jewellery store wearing a $2,500 necklace.

The store clerk reported the necklace missing to the police and Lohan was booked on felony grand theft charges. Lohan was later released on $40,000 bail and a judge reduced her chargers.

11. She tried to kidnap a child.

Just last year, Lohan filmed herself trying to “rescue” children of a Syrian refugee family.

In the video, Lohan is seen chasing the family down the street while speaking in a variety of accents.

She attempts to grab one of the children and the mother punches Lohan in the face.

12. She became a meme.

Who can forget Lindsay Lohan’s infamous dancing meme.

In September last year, Lohan was filmed busting out some…interesting dance moves at a club in Mykonos, Greece.

And it didn’t take long for the video to go viral.

Lohan even shared the meme on Instagram with the hashtag #DoTheLilo.

13. Her bizarre reality show was a flop.

Earlier this year, Lohan launched her brand new MTV reality show,  Lindsay Lohan‘s Beach Club. 

It was the show that brought us the aforementioned viral dance move “the Lilo” and allowed Lohan to once again show-off her variety of accents.

Alas, the show was a flop.

In June, Page Six reported the show would not return for a second season and her Mykonos nightclub, where the show was set, had closed down.

Good thing Lohan has scored herself a new gig on an equally bizarre Australian TV show.
